Use Feedback Well
Use an error log
- Record date, excerpt, location, observed issue, evidence source, suggested correction and next test.
Evaluate change
- Compare like-for-like performances using the same passage and similar conditions. Track the error rate and continuity, not merely subjective confidence.
Treat automated readings with care
- Pitch and timing estimates from software are less reliable when audio is polyphonic, noisy or very expressive. Confirm doubtful results by ear or with a teacher.
Close the loop
- A comment becomes useful when it produces a concrete exercise, a retest and evidence of improvement.
