Run a Mock Audition
Reproduce the constraints
- Use the published repertoire order or selection process, the correct preparation interval, limited warm-up and no restarting when those conditions apply.
Assign roles clearly
- A teacher or peer can serve as listener and timekeeper. Automated systems can assist with measurable errors but cannot simulate every panel judgment.
Note how you know
- Write down how each result was gathered: heard by a listener, captured by MIDI or a microphone, taken from a recording, or self-reported. Count a task as done only when it was actually observed.
Debrief with priorities
- After the mock, identify the two highest-impact corrections and schedule a second attempt after targeted practice.
