Practice for Accuracy

Find the exact problem

  • Record the bar, beat, error type and likely cause. Distinguish a wrong pitch from an unclear rhythm, insecure fingering, breath limitation or memory lapse.

Reduce the task

  • Practice a short segment slowly with reliable fingering, breathing or sticking. Increase tempo only when the target passage remains consistent.

Reconnect the passage

  • Add the preceding and following measures so the repaired material works in context. Start from multiple entry points rather than always from the beginning.

Test under performance conditions

  • Play or sing a complete take without stopping. Note mistakes afterward and then return to deliberate correction. Do not conceal errors by editing a practice recording.
