Make a Prescreen Recording
Follow technical instructions exactly
- Verify accepted file type, file-name rules, framing, audio requirements, time limits, accompaniment and rules about editing or separate takes.
Capture your true sound
- Use a quiet room, stable microphone position and adequate headroom. Test for clipping and room noise. Avoid processing that misrepresents the performance.
Check the whole file
- Review the beginning, middle and end of every export with headphones and speakers. Confirm that video and audio remain synchronized.
Respect authenticity rules
- Some institutions require unedited continuous takes. Where that rule applies, do not splice, tune or otherwise alter the performance. Keep your original recordings.
